Monthly Favourites | September 2014

Where has this last month gone, it's the end of September already... which means another monthly favourites blog post for you all to enjoy.

Make Up and Hair Products

So firstly this month I wanted to talk make up and hair products, as I went to my half sister’s wedding last weekend which was a beautiful experience. So with this event coming up I thought it was only right that I did some research on make up. I do not usually wear make up but knew I had to dress up and make an effort for this occasion. I watched a few beauty video’s and had seen a particular product reviewed and advertised a lot over the web and that was this Rimmel foundation. I have found this foundation has good coverage and have loved it so far.

The next product I want to talk about is by Toni & Guy, which is 'label.m' hair colour sprays. During my teenage years in particular I experimented with a little funky colour in my hair and have always loved expressing myself through hair choices and being a little creative. I love my ombre hair but I was getting bored, so I decided to have a bit of an impulse buy whilst I was buying some other bits and this was the result in that.

Southbank SAVED!!

So today I wanted to talk about something that you may or may not already know about. I previously did a blog post on the LLSB campaign as it was something I felt strongly about. The LLSB campaign was about the preserving and keeping a part of London's urban history... that being the Southbank. As you can tell by the title I am happy to announce that Southbank has been SAVED and we have won the campaign to keep our place to play and the history.

After 17 months of campaigning, it is exciting to know that for the foreseeable future the long term home of British skateboarding and other urban activities has been saved. As a community and generation, we had the power to use a campaign for something we believed in and that lead us to save a part of history for us and future generations. I think that in itself is an incredible achievement and I am glad I was able to document, sign the petition and just be a small part of this.

Introducing 11:11 Music | ATI

Hey everyone,

Over the last few years of working within the music industry, I have come across some extremely talented people and this is one of the many reasons I started my web series Aspire To Inspire.

Four boy's, one dream, one band 11:11! I first heard about 11:11 from my one of my colleagues and from hearing about them and listening to their music, I was very interested in working with them. I think this band have something different, something any other band hasn't quite had before. I am excited to see them grow, evolve and succeed.

You can keep up to date with the guy's and follow their career below!

The Thirst Project!

Hey everyone,

So today I wanted to write a blog post about 'The Thirst Project' inspired by YouTube sensation Connor Franta.

To this date, one of my most popular blog posts was the one I did on filmmakers Jack and Finn Harries when they did 'The Rickshaw Run' for Teenage Cancer Trust last year in September which you can watch on YouTube or read more about below.

Read 'The RickShaw Run' blog post here!

So yesterday was Connor's birthday and he launched his Prizeo campaign as his birthday wish - his wish was simply to help the lives of others! I thought this was incredible and such a beautiful concept. I feel passionate about charity work and people using their platforms to do better or to do good in this world, I think it is a very plausible thing no matter how big or small the difference you make. Whether you donate $1 or $10000, everything counts and I think that it's important to spread the word about things you believe in supporting.

This specific Prizeo Campaign is for a company known as 'The Thirst Project'. With one billion people in the world not having access to safe, clean drinking water and proper sanitization. The project started with the question "What could one person really do?". The truth is one person could provide clean water for a lifetime for just $25. One person can do so much for someone else, in a less fortunate position then themselves.

I was really surprised at how informative this video was and it kind of put things into perspective for me. A little like a reminder to let me know my own blessings... such as the simplicity of having access to clean water. I think people tend to forget and take things for granted. If you take anything from this blog, then know that everything in your life is a blessing and that someone somewhere wishes to have what you have. Whether its a roof over your head, a bed, clean water, food, health, education or something else.

You can watch for his campaign below!

You can also find out more about The Thirst Project on their website.

I also wanted to say a massive 'Thank You' for 300 Blog followers I am extemrely happy that my audience is growing and my content is evolving. I am still learning what works and what doesn't and I am having fun. I have so many plans and I am excited to share so much more with you guy's.

Also before I sign off today, I wanted you to check out this video of artist Luke Towler's latest cover featuring my clothing range USH Clothing.

My favourite blogs and bloggers!

Hey everyone,

So today I wanted to share with you some of my favourite blogs and bloggers. As a blogger I think it's important to maintain interactive throughout the community and support other people, who do what you do. As a blogger myself, I try my best to interact and read other peoples blogs, enjoy their content, growing, learning and gaining inspiration from other peoples creativity!

WISHWISHWISHhttp://wishwishwish.net

I have been reading Carrie's blog 'wishwishwish' for a while now and I have been very inspired ever since I stumbled across this, from the images, through to the content and the design I think it is just beautiful! I think I find this blog interesting due to the fact that Carrie like myself is a Londoner, there are many London based ideas in her blog, and as I love to explore and read about London as well as other parts of the world... I think this the main thing that drew me to her blog.

As a designer, recently I have also been looking at inspiration for re-designing my blog. I like the design of mine at the moment, however I do want it to be more interactive and integrated similar to a lot of the blogs I have included in todays post. I hope this will enable my readers to interact more and I can grow and evolve my audience.

WE NEED TO LIVE MORE http://weneedtolivemore.com

We need to live more is a blog belongs to Ella Gracedenton and is relatively new. However I have been following Ella on instagram for a while now and have always loved her content on there!

I knew that in loving Ella's Instagram, I would love her blog as I was hoping it would be of a similar creative nature. I particularly love the way she writes her blogs, as well as also loving her photography and passion for travelling. I also love the name of her blog and feel this is great way to be reminded that life is for the living!

Shine Night Walk!

Hey everyone,

Today I wanted to do a blog post on the 'Shine Night Walk' which is taking place in London, at the end of this month. Walking past all the iconic landmarks of the city, Shine Night walk returns to London to raise money for Cancer Research.

Shine is a 'Cancer Research' night time marathon, open to men and women from the age of 13 years old. People from all over the UK will attend to support the cause and join in with the event.

The reason I am writing this blog is because I believe in supporting a good cause and my parents are doing the Shine Night Walk. So I wanted to let you know that if you want to support cancer research you can sponsor them here!

A Little Poem!

Tday's blog post is a little spontaneous, however I was feeling inspired and I wanted to try something a little more creative and different to usual. So I wrote 'A Little Poem' to share with you!

'A Little Poem' By LILC

I wrote this little poem
It's only a couple of lines
To show that creativity
Can evolve from anything in your mind
Something simple
Yet literally quite small
Know you can achieve anything
Anything at all
